Arctic Husky Travellers engages locally and is educating young adults in Svalbard Folkehøyskole about dog mushing and animal health care . This collaboration started in 2022 see more info here, and currently Tommy is engaged in a 60% position to teach these eager pupils about how to take care of themselves, dogs and Svalbard nature in the most sustainable way, when they arrange shorter and longer trips in Svalbard. These pupils also help the local dog club Longyearbyen Hundeklubb to organize the two dog races Hilmar Nois trail and Trappers Trails
Arctic Husky Travellers also take part in the training of new Arctic Nature Guides in Svalbard see academic content here by providing them trainee places in our business where they get to learn the many different aspects about guiding with dogs in a safe and inspiring way.
