Arctic Husky Travellers engages locally and is teaching young adults in Svalbard Folkehøyskole dog mushing and animal health care 2 days a week from August to May (one school year). This collaboration started in 2022 see more info here, and together with Anja Åse Wied, Tommy is teaching these eager pupils about how to take care of themselves, dogs and Svalbard nature in the most sustainable way, when they arrange shorter and longer outdoor trips with our dogs in Svalbard. These pupils also help the local dog club Longyearbyen Hundeklubb to organize the two popular dog races Hilmar Nois trail and Trappers Trails
Arctic Husky Travellers is also engaged in training new Arctic Nature Guides in Svalbard see academic content here by providing them trainee places in our business where they get to learn the many different aspects about guiding with dogs in a safe and inspiring way.
